BBU Face Palette

In an event akin to the second coming of Christ (or maybe something slightly less biblical) Bobbi Brown has resurrected the BBU Face Palette-

Including 11 shades of corrective concealer, 14 shades of creamy concealer for the face and under-eyes, and 20 shades of the stick foundation, every one of God's creatures is considered in a single palette.
Thank the Lord I can finally get my hands on one, and now be one of those people with a smug look on my face every time I pull it out of my make-up kit.
Peace BBU
(Response)- And also with you
-Amen

Richard Nicoll Lookbook- Resort 2011

Last Sunday we shot Richard Nicoll’s Resort 2012 Lookbook with (my new favourite) model Cody Young. Ridiculously beautiful, she has only been around for one season and already walked for Chanel, Giles, Marc Jacobs and Calvin Klein, PLUS been on the cover of Australian Vogue. Needless to say- one to watch.
As per usual Richards clothes are super chic; check them out on style.com (photos to be added to my Fashion gallery soon). While you’re on it look at his blog on vogue.com, there are some behind-the-scenes pictures from the shoot, including...
Hold up-who’s sporting the Francesco Da Firenze mandle in the background? Oh God...I’d better call an agent.

Stylistpick

Here is a screen grab of the hair & make-up I did for STYLISTPICK, the online boutique where monthly trends are selected by a team of expert stylists (including my mate Chris Leger) and available to buy on the site.

Ciao Milano

Over a month ago I paid my first ever visit to Milan for the annual International Salone del Mobile- Milan Furniture Fair. Taking every single preconception of the city into account I wasn’t sure what to expect, conversations about the city generally go along the lines of ‘Oh yes Milan...nice...very industrial...’ Prepared for disappointment, I was immediately won over by the city on my second day thanks to my visit to Spazio Rossana Orlandi, the incredible gallery space cum design store avec courtyard restaurant.  The store resembles Ollivander Wand shop from Harry Potter- it is covered wall to wall in small boxes housing hundreds of varieties of wallpaper.
Tom Dixon’s designs are for sale alongside vintage Ercol, while the basement showcases young designer and recent University graduate’s collections.

Interview from Crane.tv with the wonderfully eccentric Rossana Orlandi

Out in the busy courtyard cafe local women volunteer their time to create tasty homemade meals, with all proceeds from food sales going to ‘Boys and Girls With Problems’ (read: recovering drug and alcohol addicts). Out here Frédérique Morrel created an instillation of life sized creatures- ranging from frogs to deer- out of found needlework. Have a look at the machine-gun wielding skeleton riding a horse.

But wait...a skeleton that cares about its appearance?
And the false eyelashes weren’t exclusive to the jockey...

Hola! Magazine

Here is a shoot I did last year for Spanish Hola! Magazine with the fabulous Chelsea socialite Tamara Beckwith and Dan & Dean from Dsquared2.  Dan & Dean’s Notting Hill house was padded out with Ralph Lauren homewares for the shoot and Tamara wore clothing from the boy’s label.

As all of the crew on the shoot had flown in from Milan that morning, Tamara and I spent most of the day in the bathroom doing make-up because we couldn't understand a word of what anyone was saying. However the twin’s house-keeper was particularly star struck after recently seeing Tamara on Celebrity Come Dine With Me and made sure we were well taken care of. Six cans of coke and five sandwiches later we produced this result:

Totes glam, no? Look out this month for my most recent shoot for Hola! Magazine with the Louboutain shoe hording and ever-elegant Rena Kirdar Sindi

Le Premier Post

Bienvenue, Velkommen, Cead Mile Failte, WELCOME to my new website and blog. I've entered the second decade in the 21st century with nil internet presence until now so I am very excited to have this blog and my website up-and-running (thanks to Billy Lee for the website).
The last six months I have been in Melbourne, dabbling in their hair and make-up scene, learning a bit of hair styling from the wonderful Blondie Gamon. Armed with make-up brushes and curling tongs I painted the faces  and twizzled the hair of some very beautiful Aussie girls, but have returned to my second home of London to continue working here. Three days after arriving I hit the ground running to work my fifth London Fashion Week with the super-suave and genteel Sam Bryant . Such a pleasure to work with someone so chilled out and talented; if the world were filled with more people like her it  would be a very different place! Here are some links to the shows I assisted her on- John Rochas and Richard Nicoll.
First few pictures in my fashion section are from Richard's Resort ’11 collection, (see full collection here) Coincidentally I landed doing Sara Blomqvist again for Richards show, and as she charmed me with her stories of New York fashion week and tearing it up around her new hood of East London. I heard whispers that Julia Nobis was exclusive to Giles this year, so unfortunately I wouldn’t be seeing her striking face and rebellious attitude this round. Shame shame.
I’ll be posting new jobs on here as I go, revisiting some of my favourite ones over the years (there’s a fair bit to catch up on) as well as adding anything I find interesting, inspiring or just funny. Blog ahoy...
